I chose the poem "Phenomenal Woman" by Maya Angelou primarily because it's a great poem. I really love the poem because it exudes a strong confidence from the narrator. When you read the poem it gives you a strong sense of pride in yourself. I intentionally searched for Maya Angelou poems because I think she does great work, most of the poems that I have read by are have been uplifting and easy to read. I am not really into poetry but she is my favorite poet.
